Howdy, I'm Frank. I began kayak fishing in 1987, when I was a guide in Key Largo Florida. In 1989 we moved back to Michigan and I brought my love of kayak angling back with me. Over the years I have used many sizes and shapes of kayaks, and they all worked for fishing, but for, the best all around fishing and hunting kayak is definitely the Native Watercraft Ultimate 14.5 tandem. It is one of the most stabile kayaks I have ever used. The seats are extremely comfortable and can be removed and repositioned to create a solo kayak. It has a fairly deep hull design so staying dry is very easy, and, all my gear fits in the kayak, rather than sticking up and out of the craft. I know there are lots of kayaks available these days, and some are better for an individual than others, it just happens that for me, this is the best.Howdy, I'm Frank. Well I can tell you from my own personal experience that I have never paddled a more comfortable kayak. Not to say that there isn't one out there, but in my nearly 30 years of kayak paddling I have tried a lot of variations and none are better for me.Not only are they extremely comfortable, but there is a ton of room for all my gear to be inside the kayak, not sticking up all over. I fish a lot of areas where there are branches and trees hanging over the water so keeping the majority of my equipment inside the kayak, especially my rods, is very important. I see a lot of kayaks these days with rods sticking up our of rod holders all over the place. Try that once on many of the waters I fish and you'll end up with broken rods and lost gear.

With the seats it weighs just over 70 pounds. Definitely not the lightest, but well worth the effort.
